Right now, the backlog is over one million photos. There is no reasonable way that Panoramio staff can review each photo for appropriateness and hope to keep up. The canceled updates are proof that Panoramio staff cannot cope with its own popularity and the current rate of contribution, and yet the future will be even bigger.
