Forte São João Baptista in Mozambique
January 29th, 2008 by Eduardo Manchón
I never expected such a resolution for a relatively unkown place as Forte São João Baptista in Ibo island in Mozambique:
But I was even more surprised after discovering that my friend eSHa took a photo right there.
It feels almost like touching these guns with the hands.

Strange..that’s the only place with high resolution satellite imagery
You can find another high resolution image looking at the “hole” in the white cloud (SE of this place). It’s seem to be a cemetery
See Matthew Winn’s posting in the “Miscellaneous” section of the Forum (http://www.panoramio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6292&start=15). You’ll find many other “high-resolution” coordinates in the same section. Have fun! This is a great thread.
… but why?
are there other places all over the world in such a high resolution?
Yes, it’s the cemetery where they buried the Portuguese settlers. It’s curious because right next to the Christian cemetery there is another much smaller buried where Hindus and Muslims. For those who are interested, I uploaded another perspective of this tower of “Forte Sao Joao Baptista” in Ilha do Ibo.

@Nicolas: Thanks a lot, that’s great … unbelievable!!!
Hello,
as far as I know these are no satellite images. They were taken by a little plane with a special camera.
Greetings, eSHa
