New update of Panoramio photos in Google Earth

November 28th, 2008 by Eduardo Manchón

Since some hours ago photos from Panoramio up to ID 15,881,277 are included in Google Earth, this means almost half a million new photos since the last update.

The date of the next update will be around January 15th and will include photos reviewed up to January 13th. Anyway probably you have seen that your photos appear in Google Earth before that date because we are making bi-weekly updates.

Sign-In isn’t working, again. Since the Forum requires Sign-In to work, this is the only place to report it.

You say: “The date of the next update will be around January 15th and will include photos reviewed up to January 13th. Anyway probably you have seen that your photos appear in Google Earth before that date because we are making bi-weekly updates.”

Can you explain what is the difference between the bi-weekly updates and the update planed for Jan 15th?

    Hi there,
Are the pictures on Panoramio protected by copyright law, or can I use photos for my website?

Earth Dots, actually there is no difference, just a technical distinction.

Paul, all photos are protected, but using different licenses, check the license for each photo.

Earth Dots - From what I understand, the bi-monthly updates will include your photo in google earth, but you need to zoom in to a really low altitude to see it. The full update is more like the traditional one; though looking at Google Earth, I feel that one yesterday was just one of the mini-updates.

Paul - Generally no, on theright hand side page of the photo, it will usually say “© All rights reserved” in which case NO. If it says something else, then it’s according to whatever it says.

    @Eduardo: Thanks for the information.

That accursed sign-in thing. Uploads, how irrelevant. 24/7, too hard! Licenses, dots, updates, colors, contests: so what? Can you explain/fix why it breaks down every day in the same way? Can you explain/fix why IE/Chrome isn’t the single solution? It’s a compelling environment lacking a compelling/committed servicing agent.

Can we send pictures to add to Google Earth? We are developing a trail and tree site in conjunction with National Arbor Tree City USA project, federal and local governments and conservation agencies. We are about to GPS our property with the local electric company’s GPS equipment and would like to provide that information also.

    Any ideas?

    Eduardo,

I have been having trouble moving from page to page within Panoramio, not a real problem as I always new I would get in eventually. No other trouble signing in , uploading or anything else. My browser was IE7 and I have no trouble with any other sites. I loaded the firefox browser which I do not particularly like and my problem with Panoramio has gone away. Just thought I would pass this on, I now use IE7 for everything else and Panoramio on Firefox.

Merry Xmas to you and all your colleagues and a Happy New Year and the same to all Panoramio users

    Hi Eduardo,

I sent you a copy of my Questions and an answer of you.
You will see that I am still missing a lot of photos because they are not been viewed yet by Panoramio. They are also not on Google earth.
    What can I do?

    Greatings from the Netherlands,

    Berend

Eduardo, I’m missing reviews from photos that I uploaded in august 2008, with numbers between 11162782 and 13251057. I sent a form twice with the individual numbers but I didn’t got any reaction. Would you please review the photos? BdeH

BdeH I see those photos added to Google Earth.

Dharma, do you still get this problem? I believe it was a temporary thing.

    Hello Eduardo,
Thanks for your answer. However the mentioned photos are still not reviewed and I cannot find them in Google Earth too. I think that’s not a temporary thing. Do I have to sent a form again?

Happy Last Year’s Problems, sign-in is broken, again, has been most of the week. What good is a troubleshooting forum where the principal function problem prevents its use?
