I am wondering what kind of cameras were used for such great photos, in particular ptaki na brzego (ptitce na bregu na hrvatskom)?
If it is not a trade secret, it would be informative to know about the resolution of this photo and whether it was done by simple point and shoot or whether further editing and polishing was done digitally.
I am a non professional point and shoot guy with a new Kodak Easyshare z1015 camera with 10 mp and 15x zoom and am really not seeking to win a prize, just improve the quality of the photos I contribute to Google Earth which are mostly from the southern california area.
I am amazed by the quality of some of the winners of this contest and have also seen a few great photos selected by Wikimedia commons such as one of the Taj Mahal.
Thanks for any pointers or further information on these photos.

Belíssimas fotos. Lugares incríveis.
Os governos de todos os países deveriam adotar critérios mais severos para preservação do meio ambiente.
Lugares lindíssimos são alvo de grandes empreendimentos imobiliários e também são devastados “em prol do crescimento”.
Um dia sentiremos falta das lindas paisagens que nos cercam.
