Dear Eduardo,
I think, it would be nice to see a list of the most voted - let’s say - 200 or 500 photos with vote numbers, because sometimes it is hard to understand how a picture can win a prize with 200 views and a few comments, while others with over 1000 views and hundreds of “voted!” comments can’t get a honorable mention either…
2. I don’t understand, why an obviously offensive picture (not even good) can win a first prize.
But after it won the first prize, it was deleted (rightfully), but wasn’t deleted from the winners’ list…
How is this all possible?
Just wondering, when would the October winners get their prizes? It’s been like a week?
Congratulations to you all!
I especially liked the winner of the Unusual Location category.
The photo that won the Travel category could probably have been improved somewhat by straightening the horizon and thus correcting the sloping sea.
How many votes did the various winners get, anyway?
esta foto es muy chula
Hi Albert,
1. We just count the votes received. The winners got more votes despite they have less views. Most of the views are from people that comes from Google Earth and doesn’t know anything about the contest.
2. The photo of unusual that got the first price got by far the highest number of votes, but we later we realized that was manipulated, so we deleted it, but we decided to leave it there to make clear what it happened.
Mark, our sponsor ATP is in charge of sending the prices and usually takes 2-4 weeks.
How can that winner of Sept 2008 unusual location even be considered a photo, it is a bad pice of art. There are no buildings with a giant bra hanging on it. I cannot take the phot contest seriously with this absurd art included. This type of art work should not be allowed in the contest, it should be limited to true photgraphs.
oh yeah. the unusual location winner is a shining example of how messed up the panoramio photo contest is. now i get it and i will stop wasting my time now participating.
I cannot take the phot contest seriously with this absurd art included. This type of art work should not be allowed in the contest, it should be limited to true photgraphs müthiş !

Congragulations for the winners but the photo above taken in Italy by cbjo
attracted me so much.
