UPDATES AND BUGS
MAP PAGE
Tabs: the popular tab will work the same way, but without being updated with new photos the next 2 weeks. The "all" tab will be removed by a tab "recent" that will display only the recent reviewed photos uploaded to this area.
Update: recent tab will be somehow similar to all tab and will be there in 2-3 weeks.
Update 4th Dec 2009: this is taking way too long, sorry guys, but it doesn't depend only on Panoramio team. It is almost done and we want to launch it before december vacation, but if the vacation gets too close, we might wait until after it.
Map: the consistency between the thumbnails displayed over map and the left panel is not so great now. We will see how much we can improve it.
Map type: in upload process the map should be hybrid, not only map.
Update: fixed, now hybrid map displayed.
Popularity: still not updated. working on it. It will be updated next week.
Update Nov 2th: popularity updated now.
Update Dec 4th: the update didn't work so great, we are trying to improve it.
Photos removed: some photos that were included in the map before the maintenance period are not there anymore. Will be included again at the end of next week around October 7th.
Update Nov 2th: fixed some days ago.
Photos placed exactly in same location not displayed: in case there is more than one photo located in exactly the same position (typically happens for your own photos) only one photo is displayed in both the map and the left panel. This is a hard problem and it will take 1-2 months until we come with a solution.
PHOTO PAGE
Location: the location text under the mini-map is currently disabled, it will be back after some days.
Update Nov 2nd: fixed last week. Gradually all photos will get this feature back.
Update Nov 12th: Should be back on all photo pages.
Photos nearby: the photos nearby have been removed.
Update Nov 16th: We started to turn back the nearby photos on many pages. Not yet available for all photos.
Update Dec 4th: Fixed some weeks ago.
View counter: increases if you paginate comments. This is a bug that is going to be fixed.

SIGN-IN AND PASSWORD
Sign-in: some people have problems and get message" tried to reconnect to potentially insecure website", specially happens when you sign-in from link to post a comment.

Password change: broken
Update: new password doesn't work. Old password only redirects you to your user page, but you are not signed in.

Forgot password: same problem when you change your password, the new one doesn't work.

UPLOAD
The new upload system needs to be greatly improved to be comparable to the old one, but at the end I am sure you will not miss the old one. Many changes are coming.
Problems: too high error rate.
Update: now its working much better.
Upload: doesn't remember the position of the previous mapped photo when you map the next photo. Working on it.
Update: fixed, now the next photo remembers the position of the previous one.
Upload: not possible to cancel the upload. A cancel button will be added shortly.
Update: fixed. now you can cancel all uploads.
Save position not reachable: so the position of the photo can't be saved in some resolutions.
Update: : it happens with all browsers when the browser window is smaller than the size of the mapping window.

Upload problems with Explorer 8: you can't map the second photo during the upload, but need to do it later from link "map this photo" in photo page.

Upload problems special characters in EXIF: if you have special characters in EXIF data, for example, Czech accents in image description, the upload doesn't work.

Search for sexagesimal coordinates don't work: if you search for coordinates like 59° 54' 55.37" N 10° 52' 38.09" E however it works for decimal format, for example 59.915381,10.877247 Until we fix it, you can use this converter

Titles: have been temporary removed from user page, they will be back soon.

Favorites: Old order changed from chronological to alphabetical order.

Pagination: in user page ranges of pages are not well displayed, sometimes you only can reach the next page by clicking on next.

TAGS
Tags problem: for some users tags are messed up, we are restoring them and they will be back tonight or tomorrow morning. Please, if you are affected by this problem, don't edit your tags, otherwise changes you do today are going to be lost.
Update: fixed, if you still have problems you need to fix it manually, please, re-apply the tag to add/remove it even if it is not visible.
Missing tags under photos: some tags are missing under the thumbnails, for example, http://www.panoramio.com/user/764795/tags/NTS

Order of photos changed: before in a tag oldest were first, but after maintenance it changed to newest first.

Tags in map: too few photos in some tags that are constrained geographically. For example "Galicia" (http://www.panoramio.com/map/?tag=galicia) displays only 4 photos. It will be fixed in few weeks, but you can get more photos of Galicia if you zoom-in in the region of Galicia.

Tag results: the map doesn't display results over some countries, for example, if you search for "japan" or "mount fuji", you don't get Japan.

E-mail alerts: first worked, broken since 10 hours ago. Being fixed now.

FORUM
Forum notifications: e-mail notifications broken. Will be fixed shortly.

Forum: not possible to post too early displayed too often.

CONTEST
Contest: the button appears again if you already voted for it before the maintenance period, however this second vote is not counted. Also the categories of the contest are not available.

List of winners: not available yet.

PANORAMIO API
Panoramio API: "count" is not working and changes in call back function. We are working in bringing them back.
Update: fixed, count and call back function working.
Panoramio API: 'upload_date' function not working. It will take some weeks to be available again.

MINI-PANORAMIO
Bug: Not possible to display photos from only one user anymore.

REVIEW FORM
Second review form: broken right now.
Update: not totally broken, but for some photos you get error message as already reviewed a second time, but it hasn't.
Update II: IDs reported with error, were actually waiting for the second review already, but the error message is not clear enough. We will clarify it.
Update III: Photos that were mapped late and therefore missed the review, don't need to be reported anymore, they will be reviewed automatically whenever they are mapped.
Update IV: Error message fixed.
Update Nov 2th: You don't need to report late mapped photos, they will be reviewed automatically.
Update Dec 4th: We added a link for each rejected photo so now it is easier to report them for a second review.
REVIEWS FOR GOOGLE EARTH
Update Nov 2th: The review is running uninterruptedly now, for both reviewing new photos as well as to process our back-logs. As I mentioned before, the new review system is not sequential on photo ids. There is a big backlog, but with the new reviewing system we are able to review them much faster.
Update Dec 4th: Since some days ago uploaded photos are reviewed after few hours.
UPDATES OF PHOTOS IN GOOGLE EARTH
Bug: We didn't update photos to Google Earth since the maintenance day on Sept 18th. The new review system will not be consecutive, so we will shortly remove the max. ID reviewed info.
Update 14/10: We will resume updates in approx one week and updates will be done weekly.
Update Nov 2th: max. ID reviewed info in the help pages obsolete, it has been removed.
Update Nov 11th: last week we transferred more than 1M new photos two Earth. Earth updates are biweekly right now, but we don't transfer the very latest photos. One the review backlog caught up, we will be resuming to our weekly transfers.
Update Dec 4th: weekly transfers to Google Earh are working again. last one was done on Nov 24th.

I already announced that Panoramio will be in maintenance for around 48 hours starting on Sunday September 20th 12:00 GMT. See details here:

After that maintenance work the site will be back to normality with some minor changes I explain below:
REMOVED LIMITATIONS
- All comments displayed: Comments were limited to the last 100 ones, after that all comments will be visible and separated in pages.
- Tags for everyone: your full list of tags will be visible again not only for you, but for every visitor of your personal page.
- Favorites: the full list of favorites will be displayed, not anymore limited to 100.
- Number of photos per user page: we reduced the number of thumbnails to 16 some time ago, after the changes you will get 32 thumbnails per page again. This was something very demanded by the people, we are sorry we couldn't do it earlier.
- EXIF data for photos: it will gradually added back to all photos.
Updated: EXIF data is already back for many photos, it will take several days for all photos.
IMPROVEMENTS
- Faster addition to Google Earth: reviewed photos will be added to GE approximately every week.
- Panoramio's map page: you will see many more thumbnails displayed over the map.
- More of "your photos" in the map: (e.g. http://www.panoramio.com/map/?user=7) we will add more photos so you can quickly see your photos all around the world.
- Tags in a map: the search by tags result page will display photos over the map, so if you search for "castle" you will get only photos of castles displayed over the map. Pretty cool.
- Larger image uploads: The upload image file size will be increased from 5 to 10 Mb. Many cameras take photos over 5 Mb and resizing them manually before uploading is a boring task. However accessing directly a too large original size can be a pain, so several smaller sizes will be available soon.
- Improved location: The text with the location of the photo under the map in the photo page will be very much improved.
Update: Currently disabled.
Update Nov 2th: being gradually restored since last week.
CONS
- "All" tab not available: in the map page you will not see the "all" tab. In few days you will get a new tab called "recent", but for the moment only the "popular" tab will be available.
- Panoramio's map page: Pagination will be limited to max. 1,000 photos of the area you are watching. In order to see the rest of the photos you need to zoom-in in that area.
- No updates in maps tabs and KMLs: Our priority is to fix this limitation and we are already working on it, but expect no new photos in the tabs and KML for 2 weeks.
- Languages: Right to left languages (Arabic, Persian and Hebrew) will not be available. The rest of the languages will be partially untranslated and translation files not available initially. We will take care of this urgently too and translation files will be available again after some days.
PROS AND CONS
- Speed of the site: We expect the map page to be slightly slower, but the site in general should be faster and more robust, so you will not get error messages anymore.
- Upload: the form is limited to 10 photos each time, but with easier mapping, adding tags and comments in an intermediate step. We expect that problems with some platforms and OS will be improved.
- Help page: Totally rewritten with proper English language, not my very bad English anymore. However some sections are already outdated and not translated, we will update them as soon as possible.
BUG REPORTS AND FEEDBACK
- Bugs and feedback: the site has been very much tested, but maybe there are bugs. Pelase, report them in this thread.

Each photographer has his own photographs to make meaning of the label: label a complete list for the best! | Based on the foregoing, I expect we will still be limited to 2 GB of images per account - so an increase to 10 MB images may not be terribly helpful if you like to have a large gallery. |

It works - fine and pretty good. I just got it and will test it as well as the other folks will do.

Hi Nick, I would like to offer you a little help to see EXIF while we still are not able to see it in Panoramio. 
But it is possible to see EXIF in Panoramio. If you use Moziilla Firefox just install the FxIF 0.2.3. Then when you wish to see EXIF of the photos you should open the original picture, then click over the photo and open Properties. Enjoy!

Problemas con las etiquetas: para algunos usuarios de etiquetas están erróneas, pero las estamos restaurando y estará de arregladas esta noche o mañana por la mañana. Por favor, si se ven afectados por este problema, no editar las etiquetas, de lo contrario los cambios que hagas hoy van a ser inútiles.
Actualización: solucionado
Pestañas: la pestaña fotos “Populares” funcionará igual pero sin ser actualizada con nuevas fotos durante las próximas 2 semanas. La etiqueta “todas” será sustituida por una pestaña de "recientes" que mostrará sólo las fotos recientes añadidas a este área.
Situación: el texto de ubicación en el mini-mapa se encuentra inhabilitado, estará de vuelta después de algunos días.
Fotos en las inmediaciones: las fotos “próximas” se han eliminado con carácter temporal, pero estará de regreso en breve.
Títulos: han sido temporalmente eliminado de la página de usuario, van a volver pronto.
Actualizado: solucionado, los títulos están de vuelta.
Favoritos: pasamos del viejo orden cronológico al orden alfabético.
Actualización: Aún no está listo.
Subidas: no memoriza la posición de la foto anterior situada cuando sitúa la siguiente foto. Trabajando en ello.
Subidas: no es posible cancelarlas. El botón de cancelación se añadirá en breve.
Subir con Opera: las fotos no se pueden guardar, estamos trabajando en este problema.
Subir caracteres especiales en EXIF: si usted tiene caracteres especiales en los datos EXIF, por ejemplo, los acentos Checos en la descripción de la imagen, la carga no funciona.
Concurso: el botón aparece de nuevo si ya votaron antes del período de mantenimiento, sin embargo, esta segunda votación no se cuenta. Además, las categorías de la competencia no están disponibles por ahora.

Registro: algunas personas tienen problemas (mensaje: trató de conectar a un sitio Web potencialmente inseguro). Estamos trabajando en ello, pero alguien encontró una solución temporal: solicitar una nueva contraseña (¿Has olvidado tu contraseña enlace) y utilizar la misma contraseña antigua corrige el problema.
Etiquetas en el mapa: hay muy pocas fotos en algunas etiquetas que están limitadas geográficamente. Por ejemplo, "Galicia" (http://www.panoramio.com/map/?tag=galicia) muestra sólo 4 fotos. Se arreglará en unas pocas semanas, pero usted puede conseguir más fotos de Galicia, si hace zoom-in en la región de Galicia.
Resultados de búsquedas por etiquetas: el mapa no muestra algunos países, por ejemplo, Japón.

Después del trabajo de mantenimiento el sitio volverá a la normalidad, con algunos cambios de poca importancia que explico a continuación:
Limitaciones suprimidas:
- Todas los comentarios en pantalla: los comentarios se limitaban a los últimos 100, ahora todos los comentarios serán visibles y separados en páginas.
- Etiquetas para todos: la lista completa de etiquetas será visible de nuevo, no sólo para usted, sino para todos los visitantes de su página personal.
- Favoritos: la lista completa de los favoritos se mostrarán, ya no se limita a 100.
- Número de fotos por página de usuario: habíamos reducido el número de miniaturas a 16 de hace algún tiempo, después de los cambios habrán 32 miniaturas por página de nuevo. Esto era algo muy demandada por los usuarios y sentimos no haber podido hacerlo antes.
- Datos EXIF de las fotos: poco a poco se vuelve a añadir a todas las fotos.
Actualización: los datos EXIF ya están en muchas fotos, en varios días estarán en todas.
MEJORAS
- Más rápida inclusión en Google Earth: las fotos aceptadas se añadirán a GE aproximadamente cada semana.
- Mapa de la página de Panoramio: podrás ver muchas más miniaturas mostradas sobre el mapa.
- Más de "mis fotos" en el mapa: (por ejemplo, http://www.panoramio.com/map/?user=7) vamos a añadir más fotos así usted puede ver sus fotos en todo el mundo.
- Etiquetas en un mapa: el resultado de la búsqueda por etiquetas mostrará las fotos sobre el mapa, así que si buscas "castillo", obtendrá sólo fotos de los castillos situados sobre el mapa. Interesante!!.
- Cargas de imágenes más grandes: La carga de tamaño de archivo de imagen se aumentó de 5 a 10 MB. Muchas de las cámaras toman fotos de más de 5 Mb y cambiar el tamaño manualmente antes de subir es una tarea aburrida. Sin embargo para acceder directamente a un tamaño original demasiado grande puede ser una desesperación, en cambio los tamaños más reducidos se descargan antes.
- Mejora de la ubicación: El texto con la ubicación de la foto en el mapa en la página de la foto será mucho mejor.
Actualización: actualmente deshabilitado.
CONS
-La pestaña "Todas" no está disponible: en la página del mapa que no verá la pestaña "todas". En pocos días aparecerá una nueva pestaña llamada "recientes", pero por el momento sólo las "populares" estarán disponibles.
- Mapa de la página de Panoramio: Paginación se limitará a un máximo de 1.000 fotos de la zona que está viendo. Para ver el resto de las fotos, usted necesita hacer zoom-in en esa zona.
- No actualizaciones de etiquetas de mapas y KML: Nuestra prioridad es solucionar esta limitación y ya estamos trabajando en ello, pero no esperen nuevas fotos en las fichas y KML durante 2 semanas.
- Idiomas: los idiomas de derecha a izquierda (árabe, persa y hebreo) no estará disponible. El resto de los idiomas estarán parcialmente sin traducir y los archivos de traducción no estarán disponibles inicialmente. Nos estamos encargando del asunto con carácter urgente y también los archivos de la traducción estarán disponibles de nuevo después de algunos días.
PROS Y CONTRAS
- Velocidad del sitio: Esperamos que la página del mapa sea ligeramente más lenta, pero el sitio en general debería ser más rápido y fiable, para que no reciba mensajes de error nunca más.
- Transferencia de datos: la página de subidas está limitada a 10 fotos cada vez, pero con más fácil ubicación en mapa, etiquetado y notasen un paso previo. Esperamos que los problemas con algunas plataformas y sistemas operativos se puedan mejorar.
-Página de ayuda: Totalmente reescrito en inglés adecuado, no en mi pobre Inglés más. Sin embargo, algunas secciones ya están obsoletas y no se traducen, se actualizarán tan pronto como sea posible.
INFORME DE ERRORES Y CORRECCIONES
Errores y comentarios: el sitio ha sido muy probado, pero tal vez hay errores. Por favor, informen en este hilo del foro.
¡¡Y eso es todo acerca de los cambios!!. Sinceramente creo que las ventajas compensan las desventajas y algunas de las limitaciones se resolverán en breve.
