Поцелуй королевской кобры

About this group

THE ABOVE PROFILE PICTURE WILL BE SELECTED FROM ONE OF OUR GROUP MEMBERS RANDOMLY EVERY 8-14 DAY. Not ALL people kiss! Some tribes and cultures don't even consider kissing; around 10% - it's just not something they do. Meanwhile 90% of humans actually do kiss. A big question is whether kissing is learned or instinctual. Some say it is a learned behaviour, dating back to the days of our early human ancestors. Back then, mothers may have chewed food and passed it from their mouths into those of their toothless infants. Even after babies cut their teeth, mothers would continue to press their lips against their toddlers’ cheeks to comfort them. Out of that gesture grew a universal sign of love and affection. Others believe kissing is indeed an instinctive behaviour, and cite animals’ kissing-like behaviours as proof. While an animal’s kiss may not be a kiss (rub noses with each other as a gesture of affection), they certainly exhibit kissing–like behaviours, many of which resemble the human smooch. If you’ve watched a mother cat, dog, goat or horse with their infants, it looks more as if they are licking them. So with the above in mind, I thought this would make a really interesting group and we should dedicate it to the art of kissing. Because the kiss is a tactile and specialized form of intimate contact seen in most species.

Group rules and description

There are so many different ways of kissing e.g. Eskimo Kiss: With your faces less than a breath apart, gently rub your noses together, Cheek kiss: A friendly, "I really like you", Forehead Kiss: The "motherly" kiss or "just friends" kiss, and why should we forget our first kiss!’

Depending on the culture and context, a kiss can express sentiments of love, passion, affection, respect, greeting, friendship, and good luck, among many others. In some situations a kiss is a ritual, formal or symbolic gesture indicating devotion as in the case of a bride and groom kissing at the conclusion of a wedding ceremony or national leaders kissing each other in greeting, and in many other situations.
