A high quality collection of pictures produced with a post-processing technique called 'selective color' where most of a photo is converted to black and white, but some parts are left in color.
Group rules and description
I created this group to start a collection of selective color images of high quality. I find these pictures fascinating because the technique offers unique opportunities to emphasize certain aspects of an image with an intensity rarely matched by other techniques. And there is no limit to creativity.
Non-contributing members are very welcome! Why? Because not everyone has selective color pictures to contribute, but some might find this group interesting enough to want to keep it in the list of their groups for easy access. So, there is only one 'rule':
No contribution is necessary to become a member.
To keep the collection consistent please consider the following guidelines (not rules, because in photography as in everything else there are lots of exceptions) before adding pictures:
Single selective color or colored object only
No overall monochromatic pictures, i.e. a significant part of the image has to be black & white.
No more than 2 consecutive pictures from the same author
As the collection grows I will revisit the need for additional guidelines
I care a lot more about quality than quantity. I will actively manage the collection and remove pictures and/or users if necessary.
Since I started this group I found out about other groups with the same or very similar subjects:
