About this group

Show people that are in any way real representatives of the place or region they are living in. This group is not for family pictures or promoting yourself as the world's next top model.

Group rules and description

What makes someone a real representative?

  • Traditional clothing
  • Traditional activities or jobs
  • Physical characteristics

First of all, include a photo from your Panoramio collection when you request to join this group.

Please only upload photos that clearly show people, not just crowd or a street scene with someone who just happens to be somewhere in the background. We have no rule of thumbs for it, but please make sure that first of all it is about the people here.

This group is not for personal photos or meant to be a family album. This group is not for family pictures or promoting yourself as the world's next top model. Because you or your family members can be real representatives of the area you are living in, there is a thin line between acceptable and not acceptable. The final decision is up to the moderators of this group.

Show us people in the world they are living in. Not Studio photoshoots or other clearly staged environments like fashion shows. Again there is a grey area when it comes to cultural events. The final decision is up to the moderators of this group.

Of course, photos should not be too blurry, over- or underexposed. Overall quality should apply. We understand that capturing a photo of a member of a long lost tribe is much more difficult than a regular passer-by on a city street, so that will be taken into account.

Photos that do not match these criteria will be removed. Please respect our decision in that and do not re-submit them over and over again.

All in all, these rules are here to keep a certain level of quality in this group. We certainly are not looking for just the best, but when people visit this group or look at it on Google Maps or Google Earth, we should not throw them off with blurry shots or off-topic photos.

Feel free to contribute and don't feel disappointed if one or some of your photos are removed. These rules apply to this group and this group only to keep it clean and healthy; these rules don't say anything on general quality or artistic values. Photos that don't match the criteria for this group can (and often will) be simply great photos that many will enjoy and would make a great contribution in other groups.
