Greetings from Germany,

Thanks Mario - this one took a little more planning - including getting up at 4.00am - the only difficulty is remembering to take pictures on a morning like that! Graham

thanks Felipe - it's never easy being in position for sun-rise - but nearly always worth it.

Thanks for your kind words :)

Thank-you Cieja0 - it's one of my favourite places - and spectacular at sunrise or sunset.

this was one of the few times I've got up early enough to be in the place I wanted to be in for sunrise Darja - and what a beautiful sight it was :)

just wanted to put down a marker at 3161 as this has really been motoring of late for unknown reasons

Tom on May 24, 2010

Unknown reasons! You've got to be kidding Graham. This is a cracker. :)

very nice colors and a spendid atmosphere, I like it very much, best regards from France, Hervé

I'm not being quite that falsely modest Tom - though I do appreciate your affirmation - it's just that the first couple of thousand views came at about an average of 100 a month or so, then it suddenly accelerated without an inordinate number of comments and very few YS's - the sorts of things that generally make picture move - must be some GE factor more than Pano, guess - but I do appreciate your coming back for that :)

and thank-you Hervé - it was great to be there, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere at the time - I'm glad to have captured some of it :)

Tom on May 26, 2010

I have experienced the same thing on a number of my images. If you look at my "10000plus views" tag you'll see three of them that have soared due to GE exposure as well as third party pages that tie into the Google/Panoramio database. I found the additional references by Google-ing my name. It's an exposure that wouldn't necessarily yield additional comments or YS's since the viewers most likely do not have a Panoramio account. :) Exposure is a good thing I guess.

Best regards, Tom

You're righ Tom I guess there's all sorts of stuff that happens when you release a picture onto the www - if only it were predictable - don't get me wrong, I love this picture, bioth for the memory and the result, which was very successful to my eye - but the correlation between the pictures that I like best - not just of mine - and those that run on Pano is pretty low, which either means that I'm a poor judge of a picture or that quality doesn't have much to do with success - it's worrying to think that either of those holding true in the real world of $/£ rather than views ... ;/

warmest regards

1000 views in 17 days - that's about as good as my most viewed ever gets - never have found what's driving it, but who cares ;D

Graham Hobbs on June 16, 2010

5000 :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Graham Hobbs on June 17, 2010

1000 views in 7 days - that's my best yet -

'I was runnin' then I was flyin'

(I still don't know what's flying it ;/ )
