Saint Annes Staith, Keeping the Sea at Bay!

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Obviously not flooded but the tide is extremely high..A few locals can be seen keeping a watchful eye on the still rising waters. They are probably customers from the nearby pubs. A few moments after taking this shot, there was a power black-out!! That was the end of my session ;)

First, I please accept my humble apologies for missing all your comments and special greetings

nasenbaerdietzenbach~~~~~Your'e most welcome, thank you!

Mark Evers~~~I can only imagine how the storms of recent weeks must have impacted negatively along the shores of the low countries. The Netherlands are far better prepared and equipped to deal with the ravages of the North sea than we are in the UK. Many thanks for your generous award Mark ;)

~Marlene~~~~~~Hello Marlene ;) The town was prepared for flooding but no one expected the sea to reach such a high level. It has cost ££££££ millions to rectify and even now, there are some townsfolk who are not yet able to go home! Thank you so much for your wonderful compliment!

Biplab Kumar Pal~~~A warm welcome Biplab ;) it's a pleasure to receive the Y*+L, I'm most grateful ;)

Jack Clarke~~~~Greetings Jack ;) It's a pleasure to receive your visit! and a privilege to be awarded such high praise. Thank you!

Nick Weall~~~~Great to see you again old bean, I'll be dropping in to yours ASAP ;)

Miguel Bortfeldt~~~~~Thank you so much Miguel, your fine compliment is greatly appreciated!

♦Rosa♦~~~~~It was heart-breaking to witness their homes being swept away with most of their belongings. Amelia recently visited the Norfolk coast line and has posted photos of the eroding cliffs

David Brown Photogra…~~~Greetings David ;) One could easily draw the conclusion that it was a dangerous event but it was such a fine night as I wondered about the town alongside hundreds of local sight-seers. The flood event happened in slow motion as the tidal estuary was being inexorably filled with the contents of the bulging North seas! I think all the town centre pubs were empty, only the most dedicated consumers were to be seen there!

Christos Theodorou~~~A warm welcome Christos ;) Many thanks for your nice comment!

Buts Yuri~~~Good evening Yuri ;) It's always a pleasure to have you visit, I'm grateful for your complimentary remarks!

Gabriel Avramovici~~~~~There were few people out promenading this night Gabriel ;) In a strange way, it was dangerously exciting and many people seemed to be enjoying the flood!

cjlin~~~~Hello dear Cjlin ;) your special greetings are much appreciated, thank you ;)

jadransko~~~~WOW!!!! Edita how good to see you in my gallery, I don't know how I lost contact with you, but I'm delighted you stopped by!

varkos~~~~Your generosity knows no bounds dear Nick, many thanks ;)

Jack Tol~~~~Greetings Jack ;) looking at this harbour scene it is hard to imagine that only a few years ago it was a successful fishing port with many trawlers alongside the quay! Your fine compliment is much appreciated! Thank you!

Lloret~~~~~I'm most grateful for your generous appraisal, thanks!

Francisco Jose Rios~~ a nice surprise to see you Fran..I'm flattered by your lovely comments and Y*+L award!
