The lake is called appropriately "Big Blue". "Waste Lake" is a little misleading because it's not the water it's the sky that makes it blue just like the ocean. The site is a disposal site for the fly ash byproduct from nearby power plants which is white. Covered with 3 feet of water it reflects the blue sky. The fly ash is non-toxic and is what drywall is made from.
