Keppelcove Tarn is now a marsh. Formerly it served as a reservoir for the Glenridding lead mine. In October 1927, following a cloudburst,flooded waters burst the banks, of the tarn, carved out a new ravine, and caused great damage. The dam was breached later, in 1931, and has never been repaired....Wainwright
