This is bizarre, seeing the comments re: family history. Traced my maternal grandmother's parents and it turns out on the census for 1891 my great grandfather (George Lyon) was born at number 77 Regent Street in1888! His father was (amongst other things) a local lock-keeper and then moved to Greatham (nr. Hartlepool) to work at Cerebos (another salt works).
