In Tana Toraja ( central Sulawesi) when a baby dies, they carve a hole in a tree and place the baby inside. The idea behind this is that for the local people a baby is innocent and in this way their spirit can grow with the tree. I think it's a beautiful idea. There can be many babies in one tree. In the photo you can see the holes covered up untill the tree grows over the holes.
