From a slide of March 1985 taken with my old Canon A1. Coming across this again, I thought it might be worth a viewing and thoughts of another real visit perhaps. Enjoy
Hi again Vladimir, yes I was a great fan of Kodachrome. I used K64 too but preferred 25. By enlarge, I have found their colours pretty stable through age (unlike the old Agfa). Later I took a lot with Fuji 100? and the newer Agfa, they have done quite good too. You may be interested to learn that I have just finished scanning my whole 35mm slide collection of: 10,250 slides!!! (all at approx 3600x2400p). A big project indeed. Sadly I have now moved entirely to digital (but I still have my two Canon 35mm (A1 & AE1) + lens.) The scanning of my slides was the last real event of 35mm for me.
Keep well, and away from those floods, Herb
Thank you very much for your best wishes, Herb! Most of the country was fortunate enough to avoid the floods, but western part which wasn't, suffered heavily. I can only envy you that you have so many slides. I started to use K25 too late, so shot only one(!!!) roll, before it was discontinued in 2002. Maybe you can help me with choosing the right scanner? I want to purchase Epson v550, with declared 6400dpi resolution. However, people on many forums say that it is a lie, and that it's a poor choice for scanning 35mm film. Supposedly it is good for scanning 120 rolls, which I also have. There is, of course, Epson v750, but I'm not prepared to spend 800 Euros on something, that I may not need in a few years time. Resolution that you used is quite good for making prints later, so that would be enough for me, too. Maybe you have some good knowledge about this.
Best regards, Vladimir
Thanks again Vladamir -a longer reply sent by Pano-mail. nb- you can see more of my slide scans here. Enjoy
