Thanks again MaryAlice. A lot of rural railways were closed down in the sixties due to "rationalisation" and without a thought about the effects on the communities they served.

Well, if this is Victorian Industrial Architecture, then I love it too! :)

It is such a shame that so many were shut down. I'm just glad that these little reminders still grace the area for you to so beautifully capture them and share with the rest of the world.

It is a magnificent place indeed, and one that I'd LOVE to come and explore should I ever find myself in Northeast England.
