thanks, Sonny! The real joke here is that totem poles like these are from the Pacific Northwest, not from the east coast at all! They were shooting a movie here that is supposedly taking place in Alaska, using Rockport as a stand-in for Sitka! So these were only up for a few days, and everyone was having their photo taken with them. So my sunset photo trip was well-timed!
