These colours - grey and pink - are wonderful, Yan! Best wishes. Eva

Very nicely composed and exposed Ian. It's tough to get detail in silhouetted buildings like this. Well done.

Thankyou so much Tom and Eva. You have both become such special and deeply respected friends, that I value the very positive nuances of your comments and the encouraging way you both affirm.

The prevailing thought for me in this instance derives from the fact that this was taken during the first moments of my time together with Leo Laps, a fellow Panoramio photographer, who had come half way around the world to be here in Australia. And that thought is: What if this were to happen again, and it was Eva or Tom for example? What genuine joy would be celebrated, yet again! That I should be so blessed.

What a beautiful, pure photo, Ian! It's radiating peace with this silver light, lightened with a slight warm colour for hopefullness. I love the frame of the tree as well as that of the clouds and to make it even more welcoming, the reflection of the clouds in the water. A photo to relax, the horizon with the tall buildings in a perfect rhythm. It's great! :)

Greetings, May

Dear May,

I have seen your most recent uploads and am truly blessed by them, especially the summer view of the location of one of my favourite images of yours: the one I call Tracks and Traces (or was that your original title??). But I'll comment on them directly.

As for this comment of yours to my photo looking across the Brisbane River, it is a sensitive and precious reaction. I am delighted by your affirmation but especially by the fact that it provokes some joy for you.

The Poinciana tree, the changing light on the river and the new apartment blocks on Kangaroo Point are all special and distinctive elements of the urbanscape of Brisbane.

Warm Greetings, Ian

Nice job Ian,in tricky conditions well done,Cheers Craig :)

Ian Stehbens on May 19, 2008

You are generous with your understanding, Craig. Thanks.

There were a number of others there with their powershots standing on the deck and just pointing. I ended up giving one of them an impromptu photogrpahy lesson, and I believe she was pleased. I got her to use the tree frame too, so that the light was a little reduced and so allow better imaging of the buildings.

Kind regards,

Ian
