Really dreamy shot. Nice collection;-) I'd love to see it with a wee bit more space around the masttop. Did you crop this one? Cheers, Kasia
Herb Riddle, on May 18, 2008, said:
Yes I cropped this really close from a much bigger original. Maybe I should look at it again. Thanks for the constructive criticism Kasia. Herb

Greetings Herb, I love any thing with boats and masts. This is very beautiful with the colors and the reflections. It belies the rugged life she and her crew must endure to make a living. I bet they would not trade it for anything. This is just one of their little rewards.
Cheers,
Rich

It's a great photo, i have spent many happy times on that boat. She was a lifeboat built in the 1920's, she took part in the Dunkirk landings during WWII. STENOA

Hi alexreindeer. Alway nice to see comments of one's photo's but to hear from one who knows some of the life or history of the photographic subject is really fantastic! Was you then a lifeboat-man in those days or do you know it by it's Dunkirk experience? - This picture was taken whilst on a weeks holiday near Thorpe-LS and as you can see the weather was great as was the area. The photo is one of a pair I have here on Panoramio. Thanks once more and I hope hear from you again. Herb

Very nice one, Herb. Well placed and great colors. A perfect place to moor a sailboat and enjoy the sunset.
Cheers.
