It is supposed to be Ukraine, but I counted about 15 Russian flags and not even one Ukrainian...

Sevastopol - Russian NAVAL base, thus a lot of buildings belong to Russia.

I can only add that the Crimea became Ukrainian fairly recently, i.e. in the 1950s, most of the inhabitants are Russian not Ukrainian and the mayor of Moscow, who is a pretty powerful figure in Russia, says that Crimea should return to the Motherland... The lease of the Sevastopol port to the Russian Navy is supposed to end in a few years, but I'm not sure if Ukraine is strong enough to go through with the termination and remove the foreign navy from the Crimea.

Crimea in common and Sevastopol specifically - has a status different from other region of Ukraine, Krimea has its own Parlament, for example. Yeas youre right about words which were said by mayor of Moscow. I think Ukraine isnt strong enough to resist Russia, and I think Russian Naval will be base in Sevastopol, so far Russia wants. And honestly, I agree with this, because Sevastopol was founded by Russians.

Well, I would be careful with this line of thought. Stretching it a little, we could say that New York should return to the Dutch ;) Or London to the Romans :D

Anyway, what I wanted to say is that this really is not a valid argument.

But Russia has power, so they can use whatever arguments they want. And this is exactly what they do :)

"we could say that New York should return to the Dutch ;) Or London to the Romans" - )) interesting point of view, maybe if Sevastopol being Ukrainian for some hundred years, we may say that this is Ukrainian city, but this city has Ukrainian history only 17 years, and a lot of inhabitants think that they are - Russians, and that is why this is the Russian city. Another moment that Sevas was joined to the Ukraine by very unfair way. After USSR destruction, 3 man (Bielorussian, Ukarainian and Russian Presidents) decided to delete USSR territory by this 3 countries, I think this sticky question had to be decided by population voting. About Russia power and what it do...Everytime and everywhere stronger dictate ones will for weaker.

Just a little comment, Jimmy: the truth is that Crimea was transferred from Russia to Ukraine in the 50s.

This makes it Ukrainian for, let's say, 50 years, not 17 years. That is quite a history. Certainly, it was all within the USSR and the Russians considered everything to be their own, but still - formally it was Ukraine.
