The control tower in the distance was the only recognizable thing that was visible from the Flatbush Avenue which traversed Brooklyn from the foot of the Mahattan Bridge to the Marine Parkway Bridge featured in this grouping.

While only the heart of Brooklyn is known as "Flatbush" we all had access to some part of the famous avenue.

Hi Hank

Thanks for this nice view. Do you know about this airplane? Must have some intersting history to be displayed there! Seems also from the aerial view that it is located close to a Concord? Am I right, and if so, is it a repliqua?

Greetings from France Cottius

Thanks for the compliment Cottius. I don't know anything about the plane except that it was typical of what was flying out of this field during it's heyday as New York's first airfield.

The Concord is real. It is on loan from the Intrepid Air & Sea museum (normally a floating aircraft carrier in the Hudson River) which is off for major maintenance and repairs. You'r probably familiar with it, at least from photos.
