Thank you both very much for visiting, and I'm so glad that you enjoyed the old rusty gate. It is the entrance to an old confederate cemetery down a quiet little dirt road.
What stories this could tell, MaryAlice? Really another proof of your outstanding abilities! And if ever monochrome made sense to underline a picture´s message, it´s here... Greetings, Peter
Anne, You are so generous with your praise. You always make me happy when you stop by. I'm so glad that you enjoyed this rusty gate.
Peter, Weird things are happening with you! I've somehow got two different messages from you on this same photograph, but only one of them showed up out here on the actual picture. (?) Isn't that wild? I have been out of town over the weekend, and I'm just trying to catch up now. I'm sorry that I didn't respond to your first comment sooner, however, I just got this new one, so I guess it's okay now. :) Regardless, I thank you very kindly for your wonderful praise. I'm so glad that you agreed with the monochrome as well. I thought it was crying out for mono! Your your gracious courtesy and warmth are always so appreciated. Thank you very sincerely.
Jenper, I'm so happy to see you here, and thank you for stopping by today! I'm delighted that you found this old gate. Isn't it loaded with character? I think attention to detail was treasured a whole lot more back in the old days, and this intricate gate is proof. Thank you again for your kind visit.
Hello, Mary Alice, there´s nothing weird about that. I read my first comment once again after posting it and decided to delete it because of some mistakes in Language and expression... I don´t use the mail messaging tool of Panoramio, so I didn´t think about you could get both messages.
Kind regards, Peter
Peter, I hadn't really thought about that being a possibility, but I'm glad to understand what was happening there. I will not wonder about it if it should happen again! :)
Kindest regards to you on this beautiful Wednesday,
Good evening to you! I'm so happy for your visit. :)
These sort of gates are common there? They are not here. This is actually the first one I've ever seen with writing on it like this! :) I was so impressed with it. I'm sure there are many more around here, but this is just the only one I've ever run across.
I hope your week is going grand as well. I am looking forward to the long Memorial day weekend! The office will be closed, and we will all be thrilled! Three day weekends are the BOMB!
Not dangerous, silly! Just Wonderful! Refreshing! Superb! All words that mean AWESOME & Outstanding! :) Long weekends RULE! How about that?
I'm so excited to hear that you're going to see the Boss tonight! That's the Bomb! :) Ha! Ha! :)
I hope you have a great time, and I'll be thinking of you. I've got to go out and cut my mother's grass later this evening. I think you'll be having the better time. ;)
You sound like ME talking here! :) Too funny! " Bruce was the BOMB?" Outstanding! I am so thrilled!
Seriously, I'm delighted that the concert was great! Live music always rules, m=no matter who it is. I'm so glad that you got to go, and that you enjoyed it so much.
Where all the trees bear golden flowers,
And all the birds are white;
Where fairy folk in dancing hours
Burn stars for candlelight;
Where every wind and leaf can talk,
But no man understand
Save one whose child-feet chanced to walk
Green paths of fairyland;
I followed two swift silver wings;
I stalked a roving song;
I startled shining, silent things;
I wandered all day long.
But when it seemed the shadowy hours
Whispered of soft-foot night,
I crept home to sweet common flowers,
Brown birds, and candlelight.
Wherever did you get this beautiful verse? I LOVE it! It's just enchanting! How beautiful.
How are you this Saturday evening? I am great! I'm waiting on my boyfriend to show up so we can go and see a movie tonight! I thought I'd do some catching up on here, as I have gotten way behind.
I was so delighted to come upon this wonderful comment, and I wanted to thank you right away! I hope you're still around. If not, Enjoy your Sunday, and thank you again for such a nice surprise.
I knew you were going to ask me that, and I only remember a first name - Sophie. I will look it up for you (and me ;)). It took me a while to remember the poem from my last comment here, but I finally managed to find that... The title is 'Across the Border' and I've always associated it with meaning the border of life and death or spirit, but I'm not sure what the author intended. And your lovely photo struck that thought with me.
I'm delighted to hear back from you but I hope you have now met your sweetie and are on your way to a movie. No worries about way behind - as you know.... ;D.
Alicia, Girl, you tickle me! :) Sophie Jewett! I have never heard of her, but now I feel so inclined to do some research! Thank you so much for your delayed response. ;) Warmest regards to you, silly girl!
Mary Alice
Sean, I am eagerly awaiting your shot! :) Let me know!
Happy evening to you, my friend!

Hi Mary Alice, another lovely photograph: great perspective and detail.
These gates are very typical of ironworks here and could have been made just up the road from here :-).
Hope your week is going according to plan,
