Hier heb je toch geluk dat de "moeder" niet aanwezig was. Mooie opname !!! Proficiat Erik. Hier verdien je toch een gouden ster !

Het wegvliegen van de moeder deed mij vermoedden dat er een nestje zou kunnen zijn. Voorzichtig gekeken en de prachtig getekende eitjes gefotografeerd. Hartelijk dank voor de gouden ster.

Hi Irene, they really do!! The singing birds are hovering in the sky and sing their song at heights of 40 to 100 m.

I remember finding these nests in my younger days. As you say Erik the birds gradually climb to fantastic heights (almost out of sight) singing all the way. Then they would stop and plummet to the ground away from their nest. Then they run for yards and yards and vanish! If you could get a fix on the vanish point and walk to it you found the nest. The birds colours helped it blend into the surrounding grass and it would often run off whithout being seen!
