This picture seems to capture something of the place for people all round the world, and I'm really grateful for the interest on behalf of this wonderful avenue of trees - this picture alone is averaging 1000 views a month without any promotion on my part - and my next highest viewed picture was taken of the same morning of the same trees - I'm lucky to live so near, I think :)

thanks loefix - when I took it it was one more shot in a dash to cover as many angles as possible before I lost the light - but I see now why it's the most popular of this scene - the elements do come together rather well, even down to the missing tree letting in a shaft of light to illuminate the foliage in the middle.

Thak-you André - i think it is a good photographic discipline to keep returning to the same places - you learn so much about how much the season, the time of day, the weather and other factors too can change a scene, and which views work best in which light. I had a brief peep at your gallery - it looks very interesting - I will return later. :)
