It is in the south-western part of the Pirin Mountains that you will find the Melnik pyramids-sheer, strangely shaped sand and limestone rocks. Melnik, one of Bulgaria's smallest towns, is located right amidst this fantastic scenery.

A border settlement during the Early Middle Ages, the town found itself on the different sides of the Bulgarian-Byzantine border at different times.

Between 1205 and 1229 the feudal lord Alexi Slav - the ruler of Southwest Bulgaria, made Melnik its capital, but by the mid-13th century the town was subjected to Byzantine rule. Even today the ruins of the 13th century Boyar's House form part and parcel of Melnik's silhouette.

Once there you should not miss The Kordopoulov House, built in 1754, The Pashovata House, built in 1815, The St. Nikolai church and of course inaccessible fortress of The Sandstone Pyramids.

Verás tu mismo que se trata de dos edificios completamente distintos y que tu corrección no tiene sentido. No se si has estado en Estambul, pero enfrente de Santa Sofía se encuentra la Mezquita Azul. Santa Sofía fue construida entre el 532 y 537, durante el mandato de Justiniano en Constantinopla, capital del Imperio bizantino; por lo que en su orígen fue edificio cristiano, nunca fue mezquita.

De todas formas,gracias por interesarte por mis fotos. Y por cierto, esta que tu tienes puesta me gusta mucho, está muy bien hecha y perfectamente encuadrada. Un saludo.

Your sides that are two completely different buildings and that your correction does not have sense. Not if there are been in Istambul, but before Santa Sofia is the Blue Mosque. Santa Sofia was constructed between 532 and 537, during the mandate of Justiniano in Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine Empire; reason why in its origin it was Christian building, never was mosque.
