At the time of construction two of the West side footings had to be founded on bed rock ubderwater the south footing was done by Shipwright Diver Bernard Wijesiriwardena the North footing was done by a team led by Mmyself(Dinty Ranasinghe)using a Diving Bell to a deapth of 30 Ft
