Tallest building in Downtown San Francisco

Actually, that's just the tallest building in an area of San Francisco called South Of Market, or SOMA. The tallest building in downtown San Francisco - in fact, the tallest building in the entire Bay Area - is the Transamerica pyramid, which would have been only a few degrees to the left of this picture, amid a cluster of other buildings, and yet it is mysteriously absent.
