Magestic and impressinve shot! Is this a multiple exposure shot ro a density filter? Cheers!

Thanks Roxy, I wanted to portray the scale of the lake district. When I was taking the photos I thought I failed miserably. It's only when you get the picture up on the computer screen, that I felt a bit more cheerful about it. I haven't done a multiple exposure or used any filters. Though this isn't how the picture looked originally. I have developed a technique (I don't know if anyone else is doing it) of converting it to black and white using photoshop (not grayscale), then blending the colour from the original shot back over the top, then desaturating slightly. I hope that helps, or rather makes sense :-)

Wonderful view superb rendition of a busy cloudscape

this place is a watercolourists haven,a dream to paint there, but I think your marker gives the impression of being almost at Mere level, when infact it's placed high up beside the path to Haystacks and Inominate Tarn (resting place of Wianrig's ashes)

Would you like me to shift it to the more suitable position, where this photo was taken from?

Mike from GEORDIELAND!

Thanks for your comments Mike, Though it wasn't taken from as high up as you'd think and the positioning is pretty much correct. (within a few metres). I took a different route up to Haystacks.

Oh you clever old climber you!, I used to try that out too, got lost once or twice, boy that was great fun! But that was when i was only 15 or 16, I'm 60 now and get around in a wheeeelchair, so no more climbing or crag-ratting for me!

Enjoy your exploits, keep the pics coming!

All the best, Mike

Incidentally, you may have seen about my wee BOOK(let) i am planning, would you allow me to use this gorgeous photo in it please? I shall keep in touch with you, whether you say yay or nay, it's of little matter

No problem. As long as it gets a proper credit and I get a copy of the book(let) :-) I have some others of the lake district on Panoramio too. One day I'll also get to work on some of the others I took. Let me know which ones you're interested in and I can send you ones at better resolution. Incidentally, I cheated a bit on Haystacks and went up and across from Honister Slate Mine. My knees aren't as good as they used to be,

ooooooooooooooooooooooohhh yes! bit of a trudge, ain't it! I used to prefer the wrong way round, that's from Black Sail hut, ower the pas (?) with the old bit of iron fence, down the track to Buttermere, then along the South shore to arrive at the FISH in time for a steaming dish of ------------------------_tetty-esh_best dish in the world, except the wife, used to eat it the traditional way, tomato ketchup and a spoon! (the esh, not the wife) sadly the wife left, but I still mek a decent tetty-esh! I, send youacopy if yer in the booklet, mo worries, but I think all the profits should go to a charity that will be decided by the contributors. I know you have other pics, I glanced at your site!, yer in my list of 'to view' on my favourites!

good luck to you, nice chatting,

Mike
