Muralla de Madrid and cathedral, Parque Emir Mohamed I

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

These south-facing walls are the only remains from the Muslim era (there are a few other fragments of Muslim wall, but no remains of any other structure survive today - please see F. Campayo's comments below). The cathedral is situated squarely on top of what was the site of the original small settlement within the walls. The Emir probably resided in the Alcazar on the north side of the orignal walled town where the Royal Palace now is.
