Seemingly the only scheduled flight to land on a beach. The official British Airways timetable depends on the tides. Not only the landing but also the flight from Glasgow in this small plane where the co-pilot is also purser is something special. If the weather is clear they fly low over Mull on the way out! Kasia

A wonderful composition Kasia! I'm actually thinking on flying to the Isle of Lewis in the summer from Glasgow, great to see the type of airport on offer :-D

Alan, thanks. Don't want to disappoint you too much, but Stornoway does have tarmac;-) and the plane is a wee bit bigger too. But well worth the experience, nevertheless. I'm flying to Benbecula this time, also from Glasgow. If you have the time fly to Barra and work your way up the islands and fly home from Stornoway. A tour I can highly recommend! Kasia

Seems really interesting to take the plane instead of a ferry.
About scotish beaches i can say, that they are really a bit caribean-style ;-) but if i think about the swim i took in Talisker Bay - brrrrr - let´s say an interesting experience...
Have fun on your Hebrides trip! I´m looking forward to see the pictures!
Cheers, Andreas!

Andreas, I can definitely recommend flying to Barra as I said above. And it wasn't expensive if you book early enough. Two thousand years ago the climate was much milder. So wait another 50 years of global warming and those beaches will be the new "Mediterranean" if they are not covered in water... Thanks for your best wishes, die Vorfreude ist schon groß:-) Kasia
