I retrieved several items off of an old wreck at this exact location in 1957/58. I also pulled up two cannons approximately 300-400 yards S.E. of this location. I was told that the cannons were given to the Port of Palm Beach but I never confirmed that. I was only 16/17 years old at the time and took it all for granted. A few years later I told Les Combs (manager of WSTU radio) about that when he build a beach house close by.

I also located several cannons up in Vero Beach back in 1977. We never found anything around the cannons. We researched the subject and found out that when ships were really in trouble, such as in a violent hurricane they would dump their cannons to save the ship. However when we looked away from the cannons, like about 1/4 mile up the beach we found some Spanish Treasure and started our Treasure hunting careers.
