Nice place. I like these houses with red roofs.
I have not heard of this island, yet.
Did you like it? Are there sandy beaches?
Dear Reni Susak is an island of Croatia located not so far from Losinj island.
Susak is very particular and beautiful, I enjoyed to visit this place.
Susak has a sandy beach.
Susak is completely made of sand, the only one island in Croatia made of sand.
All islands of Croatia and all coasts of Croatia are made of rocks, except Susak.
Ciao and best regards,
thanks for the long answer! :-)
I'm happy, that you showed this island to us.
Now, I read many things about it on the internet.
It's really strange, that there is a sandy beach here! I found something:
The island is geologically different from other Croatian islands in that it is mostly formed of fine sand laid on a limestone rock base. Scientists speculate that Susak formed as a result of sediment deposits from the river Po during the last ice age.
It's really interesting, is it?!
You won't believe it! :-)
I'm still surfing on the internet about Susak!!! I found fantastic homepages, saw many wonderful pictures and read a lot of information about their history, people, traditions, tourism, etc.
I visited this stunning island for the same rerasons that you are looking for.
I found a really interesting environment, no big crowds there.
I had also a very good dinner based with fish in a small, but charming restaurant.
