Pretty cute. Did you notice the leg-band?
I think it's his membership card to the country club. either that or his green card. ;)
both of this pair were banded - Fish and Wildlife probably tracking them to see how far they travel. This pair was lucky! Others have giant yellow bands around their necks.

They come with cooking instructions.
OMG I really AM ROFL!!
Dang good thing I just didn't get the joke at all when I saw this comment when at work! I so totally didn't get it I just plugged the whole 'Washington Biological Survey-Wash.Biol.Surv.' into google.
and of course this is what popped up:
Tags on migratory birds had to be changed
a. Bands on the legs used to have abbreviation for Washington Biological Survey: Wash. Biol. Surv.
b. Got letter from a backwoods camper:
"Dear sirs, While camping, shot one of your birds, a crow. Followed cooking instructions on the leg, and I want to tell you that bird tasted just horrible."
c. Bands no longer abbreviated
stilling laughing! Have tears running down my face, though mostly for so totally missing the joke!
I prefer mine poached.
ooooh, poor babies! poached goose, though??? Funny thing is - who knows. These little babies might be some of the big adults I've been photographing lately! And LOL, a comment chain from the old days before I'd realized the hazards of carrying on conversations with Guy while at work, ha-ha.
Either way, your goose is cooked.
