Many thanks, Gupta for appreciating, I tell you that this place is situated at High Altitude desert area and the route is Delhi-Chandigarh-Anandpur-Bilaspur-Mandi-Kullu-Manali and Rohtang pass. After crossing Rohtang Pass (Rohtang Pass is at about 13 -14 thousand Feet high and is closed from October to May almost for six months. In July- Sep it is very pleasant to travel to Chandertal.) Now after crossing Rohtang Pass, it is steep descent and the next station after 14-15 Kilometers, is Koksar Town. Just 5 kilometers before this Koksar Town, there is a less noticeable spot, which just have three or four huts which run tea shops and here the road bifurcates to Kaja Town. Chandertal is in way to Kaja from Manali. Better stay at Koksar and start at early morning for Chandertal. Koksar is having Govt. Rest house which is only good stay. Chandertal is about 50 -60 Kilometers from Koksar. The road is really tough and only jeepable. Better have 4 wheel driven vehicle, any how simple cars can also go but with a little risk and difficulty. It is all deserted road, seldom a vehicle passes by, only good point is that after just every 15 kilometers, there is a small village and it has Govt. Rest house which have comfortable stay but no electricity and hot water. Food and Bed are tolerable and are only hope if the weather goes bad. Here there is unexpected snowfall. And it does not soft snow but hard ice beads which can do any damn thing with human life. You can make a to and fro journey from Koksar to Chandertal in a day with a good stay of two three hours at Chandertal. It takes about 5 to 6 hours for going and same for coming back in journey. Anyhow for you just knowledge, I traveled on simple Hero Honda 100 CC Motorbike from Palampur to Chandertal and back. But I do not recommend it for soft people as I had very new experiences in this journey which are hair raising. If you want to personally talk, you may contact me at my cell phone no. +9119417010035
