The Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale) was the official residence of the 120 Doges , who ruled Venice from 697 to 1797. On the decoration of the facades of the building work outstanding artists: Titian, Tintoretto, Bellini, etc. The first doge was elected Anafesto Paolucci (697). Venetian Republic fell in 1797 after the invasion of Napoleon's troops here.
