TRECESSON CASTLE, CAMPENEAC, BRITTANY

A nice little manor house built with red stone during the 15th century. It is situated near the legendary “Forest de Broceliande”. Its a quiet place and the reflection of the manor in the water is never the same.

A very sad legend is told about this manor. In 1750, a man poaching near the castle was the witness of the murder of a bride by her brothers: they buried her alive. The poacher did not dare to call help, and when he went to prevent the Earl of Trecesson, it was to late. They buried again the poor, with more respect this time. The Earl tried to discover the identity of the young woman, but even if he did it, he never revealed the truth.

CHATEAU DE TRECESSON, CAMPENEAC, MORBIHAN

Joli petit manoir de schiste rouge situé à la lisière de la Forêt de Brocéliande et du Camp de Coetquidan. Il a été bâti à la fin du XVème siècle et peu modifié (un peu quand même, car il est toujours habité). Il se reflète agréablement dans l’étang, et d’une manière toujours différente.

Le souvenir d’une mystérieuse tragédie survenue en y reste attaché. Braconnant à proximité du château, un homme fut le témoin de l’assassinat d’une jeune mariée, enterrée vivante par ses deux frères. N’étant pas censé se trouver à cet endroit (je vous rappelle que c’était un braconnier), il tarda à appeler les secours. On ne parvint pas à ranimer la malheureuse. On l’enterra donc de nouveau, mais avec les sacrements cette fois. Malgré les recherches du Comte de Trecesson, l’identité de la jeune femme n’a jamais été découverte. Bien sur, on raconte qu’elle hante toujours les environs à la recherche de son amour perdu.
