Gabor, Keith and Thomas, thank you all very much for commenting my photos!

It seems to be very peaceful. I only arrived very late in the evening, so it wasn't easy with the light.

Keith, thanks for your wishes, I don't know yet, if I'll go up in the East or West. I think I'll take different ways in going up to Scotland and coming down. I wish you good weather for camping!

For all of you a nice weekend with my best greetings, May

Up one side and down the other is a good plan. West has the Lake District and East takes you through Northumberland (my home county). Recommended places to visit in my county are: Berwick, Alnwick, Bamburgh, Hexham, Hadrian's Wall. In the border country there is Melrose with its abbey and Burts Hotel - great food at the bar or in the restaurant! I hope you have good weather and great light for the pictures.

Thank you, Keith! I am always very happy to get some advice, what is nice to see on my way. I passed most of those places you mentioned, but didn't have much time. I have put up some photos. If ever you have a little time, I'd be grateful, if you had a look if I positioned them correctly. In Hexham were a lot of tourists, I was there only to get some information in the tourist office. I love the North of England, especially the fells and the pretty little towns. There are so many places to see and to enjoy. I look very much forward seeing them.

Greetings, May

Dear May, Once again you have captured the mood and magic of this lake. When you tell me I am being too kind I think you are being too modest!! You have an enormous following and they aren't all being too kind ;-))

Friendly greetings, Lesley

Dear Lesley, thank you so much! I am happy about your kindness and that you like my photos! ;) I arrived late at High Lorton and found a very nice B&B. I was told about Buttermere and drove off before sunset and was so lucky. The atmosphere was just beautiful, though it was already a bit dark.

Best wishes, my friend,
