Hi May
I notice you are very lucky with the sun. Oh, I (we) love to walk trough this kind of streets with the many small and charming shops and have a coffee or a pint in the local pub before moving on.
Wish you some continous nice days there. (Or you are maybe already back on the mainland?)
Mogens.

Correction: I mistook the upload date with the date of photo taken, but anyway: nice photo.

Thank you for visiting my UK photos, Mogens! I am flying this week to Liverpool and going North, where my way leads me. I don't know yet about the exact destinations. Greetings, May

This is a lovely photo of a very rudely named place, May. And I like rude names, so I think you should go back to Cumbria to look for more naughty-named places!
Norrel has refused my request, but maybe you might take photos in this town for me!

Hello May
I am quickly going through your photos of the Lake District and will come back slowly!
This one caught my eye for two reasons. Firstly I only recently realized that the English poet Wordsworth was born in Cockermouth, and secondly you may be intereste in the record floods that occurred here in November.

Whoelius, I don't share your preferences and am definitely the wrong person to ask such a request.
I love this pretty town, so I will delete your request and my answer after some time.

Yes, Peter, I was just going to write about it, but you have been faster than me.
The river Cocker, which has given the name to this lovely town has flooded the place, I saw it on BBC TV, when it happened. Thanks for putting the links for anybody who is interested.
Best regards, May

Peter, thank you also so much for mentioning William Wordsworth, the great poet. In Cockermouth can still be seen the lovely house, where he was born, now used as a museum about Wordsworth's work and some original rooms.
Warm regards, May

Hello again May
Great link to the Poetry of Wordsworth, but I must admit that I have not read much poetry, but the second poem down on the list called Tintern Abbey is one that I have!
Some years ago we walked along the Wye Valley and took a photo from where Wordsworth was supposed to have looked down on Tintern Abbey. When I get round to scanning and posting the walk I will let you know.
All the Best Peter
