Marmion Farm, looking north. This farm, after the 101st captured the German garrison there, was used as a regrouping spot for many miss-dropped 501st, 502nd and 506th Airborne troops during the invasion of Normandy on 6 June 1944.

The spot was known as “Stopka Strongpoint” under the command of Maj. John Stopka of the 502nd.
