Cornus suecica (Eurasian Dwarf Cornel or Bunchberry)

Is a species of flowering plant in the genus Cornus, native to cool temperate and subarctic regions of Europe and Asia, and also locally in extreme northeast and northwest North America. The name translated from the Latin will be Swedisch Dogwood.

In the North of Holland u find it's most southern growing place. It's very rare here and only one growing place is known (See Map). There used to be two growing places but at the other location the plant is already died out. The flower is the logo of the 'Florakatering Drenthe' and is found in the shield of a nearby town called 'Vries'
