Beside..offside..... Will you have new photos about the title related to side like inside, outside, backside,
Thank you Jeff, but I think you might need to continue the photo assignment on the side!
And I am glad you selected this one to comment on, for I have held back on uploading it though, for me, it was an interesting non-action image.
The color is good. I like the white frame and you title.
(there have to be at least two players and a ball for an "Offside!".. no?!? ;-)
When there are no opposing players between me and the goal, I could well be off-side, or an off-sider for the linesman who is preparing the ground for the first match of the day.
But Half-time, Ian, maybe before-time!?
Now do they play with a net or not? That is the question!
I just hope no one gets their net in a knot over this.
Kind regards mate,
Ian Down Under
Hi Ian ,Offside without discussion. It's not the green green gras of home version and the seat in the stands at the background need a redecoration, but it's a very nice place to teach soccer at your grandchildren.
Tomorrow we start our short Schwitserland trip and are invited by Panoramio Werner and Urbi.
I hope that happens often to our adversaries in the world cup Ian.... Cross my fingers jaja. You knew to of the best players are from my city? Sorry my ignorance but, are you in? Best wishes, Edmundo
Ja Ja, Edmundo, Australia was top ranked team from Asia this time. Australia is in Pool D with Germany, Serbia and Ghana. Your team will be playing France, South Africa and Mexico in Pool A. I am sure I can count on you to sup[port Australia in its pool matches!!! Uruguay v France should be a great match! And I don't think you can count on France to be offside very often! What a great way to start the tournament!
After writing I looked at the fixture Ian... Didn't knew you were in such a good moment! But you're asiatic as we are "oriental", ja ja (You know our official name is "República Oriental del Uruguay", menaning we're at the east of Uruguay river...) France won't be easy... My very best wishes for your team!!!
good news, Ian! both Germany and Serbia played terrible last week!
...and France isn't at the top of their game either currently, Edmundo...
prefering to be on the side of the winner, I'll be routing for Australia and Uruguy (please do teach me your chants :))
I think that Germany are playing a ploy to not look so good. When we come to 13 June in Durban they will rise to the occasion, for they will be wary of Australia! But I'd like to believe the gist of your message, and hope it carries through. Australia was below par against NZ last week too.
Here's a link to the Socceroo Chant - a Beetles-like song that doesn't make my heart warm or my toes tap, or my patriotism rise, not yet.
I'd love to see Uruguay play Netherlands in the Final, just to right the record books. Should the magical happen and Australia meets Italy in the finals somewhere, then I would want to see history put right there too. Ireland will have to wait for another day, poor buggers!
Dear Oriental Edmundo,
We are into that season when you are up watching the French Open, then switch to South Africa and then back to Wimbledon. What a season for you.
I think we are pleased to be in the Asian Group. At least we get to the Cup by winning our group, not by beating the 5th placed South American team. That always meant we were behind the mark even before we got there, albeit at Uruguay's expense.
This is World Cup, so Germany, Ghana and Serbia will all be a challenge, so too France and Mexico.
Best wishes for a successful tournament, and no referee bloopers that count this time!
well, I expect we can count on the referees to get our juices flowing at times...
in a few hours I get to watch Australia play Danmark and Holland play Ghana -- should be informative. I'll report back...
I will relish the report, Ian. Obviously both matches are of real interest to me.
