Interresting names for a wonderful flower! Greetings Klaus

Klaus, sorry for the long delay! Yes, this lovely little plant has a big variety of names. People are clever when they name things, aren't they?

Other common names fawn lily or fawnlily, and adder's-tongue.

Wonderful group you have in your garden Jean I think the species you have is Erythronium_americanum.

Greetings Erik

Erik, you are probably right about that official name. The link you gave me says they grow in muddy soil but mine grow on dry soil. Mine are not as thick as the ones that photo either. I have only seen them in the woods here up on the hillsides.

Thank you so much Erik!
