is that jewish David star on the roof?

Well this star looks like a Jewish David star but I hink it is mere coincidence,as this religion is not related to the Jewish religion

No it is not the Star of Davis as in the Jewish Faith. It is an ancient symbol used in Buddhism as is the Swastika.
In other Buddhist states, such as in southern India, one can see the 'swastika' and 'star of david' side by side but with very different meanings than those associated with them today.
This is a good reason for buying a decent guide book when travelling so as not to be offended, fooled or to cause same...

PS... I had been trying to find out about the branch of Buddhism that built and uses this temple after spotting it in Takayama earlier this month. Nice photo.

Thanks Well actually the guide book I bought for Japan states that this is the world Mahikari-kyo shrine. The Mahikai-kyo is supposedly a "new religion" that aims to be the convergence between shintoism and bhuddism....but I don't know more about that.
