One of my favourite roads - ever! The Trollstigen ("The Troll Ladder") is a famous mountain road 20 kilometers south of the Norwegian city Åndalsnes. It is part of the "riksvei 63". Eleven hairpin bends lead up 800 meters from the ground of the beautiful Isterdal Valley to the top of the pass. Midway the road crosses the Stigfossen (waterfall) which falls 320 metres down the mountain side. The road is surrounded by the impressive mountains Bispen (1.450 m), Kongen (1.614 m) and Dronninga (1.701 m).

No, thats true. My home s at E6 near Oppdal about 170km from Trollstigen, but in Norway that is neighbourhood... I have been there meny times. The road is closed i vinter time. Sigmund

What a great shot! I passed by here a few weeks ago on my motorcycle and tried to find a good place to take a photo but it was nothing like this one. Of my tour of Norway, the ride from Geiranger to Andalsnes was the most beautiful. Too bad I live so far away in France because Norway is perfect for motorcycling.
