why don't they restore it ? the building and the site are worth it, aren't they ?

Pom If the church were restored the tiny church that now stands within the older walls would it's self have to be demolished. In one way you can look at this as an evolution. The population declined so the church followed.

At a rough guess it would cost around £20 million to restore to it's former glory. Although the challange I admit would a great undertaking, for a building that is used now very rarely. Have a word with the Pope he might have a few bob to spare, but don't remind him about the reformation, touchy subject still in The Vatican.

Hi Peter and Pom',

This is a really nice angle. I kind of like your evolution of the church idea. The Vatican couldn't afford to restore it anyway. Haven't they lost a lot of property in recent years due to being touchy? (not over the reformation though.) ;)

This was the best angle possible due to limited space. I would have liked to have been 10mtr further back but standing in a thorn hedge wasn't an option. I will load a much closer shot for you all to enjoy and you know I mean CLOSE:)
