We've got enough wind from your direction, Pam, no need to turn the wind turbines south thanks very much. The jet stream coming from Canada and warm wet air coming from the Gulf of Mexico. We've had over two months of continuous thunderstorms, ever since it stopped snowing. The last one was Friday, a few dozen counties from the Ozarks all the way through St. Louis and into Illinois, went from severe thunderstorm warning to tornado warning to flash flood warning. We had torrential rain and bone rattling thunder and a little hail. And we like rain and hail during a thunderstorm. It's when the rain and hail stop that you've got to worry, cause that means you're in a pocket of rotation and the thing might drop down on top of you. I've been through a share of still green skies in my time, and it's not the most pleasant experience. There were a few, maybe ten touchdowns around the area into Illinois on Friday (as I said before, we don't keep count for a little thing like that) but I don't think any injuries and hardly any damage.
This is a beautiful photo, Pam! I love the dark and light clouds!

Great Shot, if I had my camera I could of taken one just like it last night. I was driving home from Edmonton and almost had to pull over. So it is when the rain and the hail stop that you have to worry eh! Zoe

Ryan I know you folks south of the 49th have been getting it pretty bad this year(at least as far as buildings go, or have gone :S) and unfortunately in some States there has been lives lost.
I hate hail......lost my flower garden to it last year and while we used to have weak tornadoes last year's threat of an F4/F5 didn't make my day.
I give you folks credit for living there....I always loved my province becuase we don't/didn't have nasty critters or weather (er...not counting blizzards but we are used to them ;).
