I grew up here as a kid 1960-1972. I lived just behind the control tower in 78 Deben Avenue. I loved it here as a kid, although I missed all the early action,as I was'nt born. I have fond memories of playing around here and the sandbags, air-raid shelters and bunkers! We were never allowed in this building as there was always somthing going on, mainly to do with car engines, I think. Before it became a museum,it was painted pink!I was back there in 2003.
