In 1949 John Minor Sr. and his wife drove across this plateau to check on the cattle. Three days later a rider on horseback checked the cattle again and found that this hill had slipped down to it's present level. Minor's car tracks could be seen ending on one cliff, appearing on the grass of the sunken hill and reappearing again on the other side of the cliff. A natural gas pocket, underground lake, or quicksand could be the cause of the slide. Cracks in the coulee can still be seen on the sides of the hill.
Golden Eagles nest to the north of here, Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Antelope, Elk, and Sharptail Grouse are abundant in the area.

That sounds like the Bad Lands also give a home for some creatures.

Hi Mene
Yep they aren't totally bad (they keep the humans out and give the animals room to roam). When rain comes even they can look pretty green (when the rain comes ;).
Cheers and TTYL, Pam
