It does take a certain type of person not to be overwhelmed by the tundra like ;) landscape here A. Trigo (however we do indeed grow trees....the northern 1/2 of Saskatchewan is covered by the Boreal forest and the southern 1/2 also has some nicely wooded areas.

Interesting, I can definitely see the similarity between these badlands and those in South Dakota and Montana. Is this the Big Muddy Badlands? My internet searching isn't going so well, all I can find is that there exists some place inside Saskatchewan called Big Muddy, and there are badlands there, and there were most likely outlaws hiding out.

I don't think this area has been named Ryan.
The Big Muddy Badlands, near Bengough (?), are southeast of Moose Jaw and around 100 miles away. I keep meaning to head that way. I love that country but it's harder to get near the sights now....they are on private land and irresponsible people have made the landowner(s) a little touchy (I think it's still possible though, maybe with a bit of pleading, to visit them).

Nice shot Lilypon, I love the topography here. Yes there doesn't seem to be a name for the badland formations along Lake Diefenbaker.. This shot appears to be from around the Snakebite creek/coulee area - I think 'Snakebite Badlands' would be a pretty cool name for this area?

Glad you enjoyed seeing it Billy (sorry I missed you before and that I'm so late replying).
Brant I know "lack of trees=more geology" really excites you! ;D
elmambo I must admit it does look like Mars (in some places here;).
I'm pleased you enjoyed seeing it Takimirimo!
Mancoda I love the name "Snakebit Badlands" :-)(very fitting too since I'm positive there are more than a few rattlers around there)...I really think you should submit it (to whichever Gov't Dept. :S is in charge of that).
